Ethno village Stanišići near Bijeljina

Located on the far northeast part of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the fertile plains around Bijeljina ethno village Stanišići is reminiscent of the real mountain village from central Bosnia. Small hills, creeks and lakes is not a common environment which can be found around Bijeljina.

The whole village started from a dream of businessman Boris Stanišić in 2003 that wanted to build a catering facility that will look like some old mountain house. After the initial success Stanišić continued in his investments and moved few original houses from his village Brgule near Vareš and from some other villages like Šikulje and Višnjići. He dismantled the original old houses peace by peace and assembled it again in his village 3 kilometers far from Bijeljina. Beside old houses Stanišić also moved an old watermill that is now totally in function.

The village is built in two parts. One part is historical made of old houses with belonging household and second part is spiritual with a orthodox churches and other sacral objects important for Serbian people. The whole village is suitable for one day visits, but for those who would like to stay longer it is possible to arrange overnight at the local hotel or the houses.
