"Javorov do" (Maple valley) is located on Bjelašnica mountain some three kilometers far from the ski center Babin do in the direction of Šabići village.
Bosnia and Herzegovina and it's capital Sarajevo had some hard times in February 2012. with snowfalls that reached record heights and low temperatures that lasted for days. More about that can be found in our other article named "Bosnia and Herzegovina under the snow".
First competition in Bosnia and Herzegovina in snowmobile driving will be held on 25-26. February on Olympic mountain Bjelašnica. Competition organizers are KJP ZOI'84OCS D.O.O., UDRUŽENJE ZA RAZVOJ DRUŠTVA „KAP" and BH MOTO RACING TEAM.
Bjelašnica will be the host of this year Snowboard European Cup that will be held on 11-12 February at the location of Štinji Do. Competition will be held in two categories - Slope Style and Big Air.
Babin do is a valley on Bjelasnica mountain and it is located on Trnovo municipality. After the XIV Olympic Games in Sarajevo Babin do become a famous sky center in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Whole southern region of the Bjelasnica mountain is one beautiful showcase of nature that sometimes interlace with legend. One of those legends is connected with Umoljani village and Studeni potok, small water stream literally translated as "Cold creek".
"Snow park" opening on Bjelasnica will be organized on 14th January 2012 at 12:00. That park is built under joint initiative of the snowboard clubs "Mad Style" and "Free Style" with public institution "KJP ZOI'84" technical support.
There is so much words that has already been said about Lukomir like "highest inhabited village in Bosnia and Herzegovina", "a village at the end of the world" or "place behind which lives dragons and fairies".
Bjelasnica mountain is very close to Sarajevo and with it's great cycling potential it is great place for weekend bicycle rides. This tour happened sometimes in May. Snow traces was visible on the mountains peaks, but weather was relatively warm and pleasant for ride.
